PM Modi, President Murmu pay floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 155th birth anniversary at Rajghat

New Delhi: Today the whole country is celebrating the 155th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, everyone is remembering the invaluable contribution of Mahatma Gandhi. Also, the whole country is paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi. PM Modi went to Rajghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

At the same time, remembering the Father of the Nation, PM Modi wrote on X that on behalf of all the countrymen, salutations to Pujya Bapu on his birth anniversary. His life and ideals based on truth, harmony and equality will always remain an inspiration for the countrymen. On this occasion, PM Modi also remembered the former PM of India. PM Modi wrote on X that respectful tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri ji on his birth anniversary, who dedicated his life for the soldiers, farmers and self-respect of the country.

The birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, is being celebrated on 2 October 2024. Mahatma Gandhi, who started the freedom struggle against British rule, played a key role in liberating the country. His movement inspired people to fight for freedom. The country remembers the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, for his dedication towards freedom. Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary also falls on Gandhiji’s birthday, i.e. October 2.

Saluted Lal Bahadur Shastri


PM Modi also saluted and paid tribute to India’s second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. Paying tribute to Shastri, Modi said, “Respectful tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri ji on his birth anniversary, who dedicated his life for the country’s soldiers, farmers and self-respect.” The Prime Minister also paid tribute to Shastri by visiting his Samadhi Sthal Vijay Ghat. Shastri was the second Prime Minister of India. He was born on October 2, 1904 in Uttar Pradesh. People were impressed by his simplicity and humility. He gave the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ during the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

President Draupadi Murmu wrote a special message


President Draupadi Murmu wrote a special message remembering Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. She shared a post on X which also has an image. This image has a long message about Gandhiji. In the caption of this photo, the President wrote, “On the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, I pay my humble tribute to him on behalf of all the countrymen.”

At the same time, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi also reached Rajghat on Wednesday morning and offered flowers to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Apart from Rahul Gandhi and PM Modi, many other big leaders also reached Rajghat and remembered the Father of the Nation.
