Union Sports Minister Gives Green Signal to Key Projects in Uttarakhand

Hon’ble Union Sports Minister Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya Ji’s Visit to Uttarakhand: Key Discussions and Approvals for Sports Development

In a significant development for the sports infrastructure of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami met with the Hon’ble Union Sports Minister, Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya Ji, in New Delhi. The meeting focused on the state’s preparations for the upcoming National Games, with a thorough discussion on the development of sports facilities and placements within the state.

Key outcomes of the meeting included approval for several crucial sports infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing Uttarakhand’s sports potential:

  1. High Altitude Sports Center in Dinapani, Almora: The proposal for a High Altitude Sports Center in Dinapani, Almora district, received positive support, with discussions on the necessary funding for its establishment. This facility is expected to provide top-notch training and preparation for athletes, taking advantage of the region’s altitude to enhance performance in various sports.
  2. Multi-purpose Sports Halls: The Union Minister also gave a green signal to allocate funds for the creation of multi-purpose sports halls at every development section level across the state. These halls will serve as vital hubs for local sporting events, training sessions, and community engagement.
  3. Ice Skating Rink at Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun: The long-awaited proposal for the construction and operation of an ice skating rink at the Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun was approved. This facility is expected to boost winter sports training in the region.
  4. Adventure Training Centre in Shivpuri, New Tehri: A key request was made for funds to elevate the adventure training center located in Shivpuri, New Tehri. The center is a crucial venue for adventure sports and has the potential to attract both local and national-level athletes.
  5. Indoor Artificial Rock Climbing Wall in Champawat: The proposal for the construction of an indoor artificial rock climbing wall at the Women’s Sports College in Champawat was also discussed, with the Union Minister extending his support for the project.

The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Union Minister Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya Ji for his assurance of cooperation and the timely approval of these essential sports infrastructure projects.
