Kedarnath temple is being built and not Dham: Surinder Rautela

Amid the controversy over the Kedarnath temple to be built in Delhi, Surinder Rautela, President of Shri Kedarnath Dham Trust Burari (Delhi), clarified the situation. He said that Kedarnath temple is being built in Delhi, not Dham. The trust is getting it constructed. The Uttarakhand government has nothing to do with it.
Rautela said that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had come to attend the Bhoomi Pujan program of this temple on the request of the trust. It has nothing to do with the government. He came to Delhi on our personal request.

He said that the Uttarakhand government has nothing to do with the trust either. This trust is running with the cooperation of the members, most of whom are from Uttarakhand.
He said that Kedarnath temple is also built in Indore. Badrinath temple is in Mumbai. Apart from this, temples of Vaishno Devi, Khatu Shyam, Goljyu Devta, Sai Baba are built in different parts of the country.

He said that we are building Kedarnath temple in Delhi with religious sentiments. This is not a Dham. There should be no controversy on this. Some people are defining it wrongly and making it a matter of controversy for political gain.

Government has no dealings: Ajendra Ajay

Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Mandir Samiti president Ajendra Ajay has said that neither the Mandir Samiti nor the government has anything to do with the temple being built in Delhi. Congress leaders are unnecessarily blowing the issue out of proportion. If the concerned organisation misuses the name of Kedarnath Dham or takes donations in its name, legal action will be taken.
Ajendra Ajay said that the Chief Minister himself has told him that the government has nothing to do with the Delhi Mandir. The CM had laid the foundation stone of the temple at the behest of some MLAs and the Delhi Mandir Trust.

Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand expressed displeasure

Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has expressed displeasure over the construction of a symbolic temple of Kedarnath Dham being built in Delhi. He has questioned the Kedarnath Dham Trust and the Uttarakhand government that why was there a need to build a temple in the name of Kedarnath Dham in the capital Delhi? He said that a temple cannot be established anywhere in the name of Kedarnath Dham. By doing this, an attempt is being made to reduce the dignity and importance of Kedarnath Dham.

Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that Kedarnath located in the central Himalayas is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. It has been called Himalaya tu Kedar in the Puranas. The Jyotirlinga located in Kedarnath has also been called the Jyotirlinga of Satyug. He said that any plan to reduce the existence and importance of Kedarnath Dham, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, will not be allowed to succeed. He has expressed displeasure over the construction of Kedarnath temple in Delhi.

Shankaracharya said that it is not appropriate for the Chief Minister and MLAs to be present in the Bhoomi Pujan program of the temple in the name of Kedarnath Dham by a private trust. The Uttarakhand state government should also consider this. At the same time, if they want to establish the temple, then they can establish the temple by any other name. We have no objection to this. He advised the concerned people not to do such an act while respecting the public sentiments.

Tampering with Hindu traditions: Priest Santosh Trivedi

Kedarnath Dham’s Tirtha Purohit Santosh Trivedi said that an attempt is being made to tamper with Hindu traditions, which will not be tolerated. The government should withdraw this decision soon, otherwise there will be a big movement in the country. This is an insult to the Sanatan and Vedic tradition along with Hindu faith. CM Dhami is also doing Garhwal-Kumaon politics in Chardham Yatra, which is absolutely wrong.
