After a two-day break, the session of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha started again today. The opposition surrounded the government on issues like misuse of central agencies, NEET and Agneepath. During this, there was a lot of uproar in both the houses. Rahul Gandhi showed the picture of Lord Shankar during the discussion in Parliament. The speaker stopped and asked to wait for a minute. Speaker Om Birla said that you raised the question. Your honorable members were telling the rule of 352. You said that the House should run according to the rules and procedures. No placard or picture can be shown in the rule.

Rahul asked, ‘Is it forbidden to show the photo of Shivaji in this House? You just tell me this. The picture of Shivaji is forbidden in this House. If I am saying that I got protection from them but you are stopping me. After this I have more pictures, I wanted to show everything. The whole of India knows and understands this picture. Why did I bring this picture because the idea in this picture is to defend. Shivaji has a snake around his neck, the purpose behind this is that no one should be afraid.’ Rahul further said that the entire opposition is protecting the idea of India. We have protected the Constitution of the country. Meanwhile, Rahul showed a photo of Lord Shiva, on which there was an uproar in the House. On this, Speaker Om Birla refused to show the photo. Leader of Opposition Gandhi said that the trident in Shiva’s left hand means non-violence. We protect the truth without violence.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said, ‘The PM says that (Mahatma) Gandhi is dead and Gandhi was resurrected by a film. Can you understand the ignorance? … Another thing I noticed is that there is not just one religion that talks about courage. All religions talk about courage.’

Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP and said that those who call themselves Hindus keep on doing violence, violence, violence; hatred, hatred, hatred; untruth, untruth, untruth 24 hours a day. These people are not Hindus at all. You are not Hindus at all. It is clearly written in Hinduism that one should stand with the truth. One should not step back from the truth. Non-violence should be spread.

PM Modi later said in the House on Rahul’s statements, “This Constitution has taught me that I should take the Leader of the Opposition seriously.

Retaliating to Rahul Gandhi’s statement, Amit Shah said, “Such a big act cannot be hidden by making noise. The opposition leader said that those who call themselves Hindus, commit violence, talk about violence. They probably do not know that crores of people proudly call themselves Hindus. Do all of them commit violence? Linking the feeling of violence with a religion and that too by a person sitting on a constitutional post in this House. I think he should apologize for this.”

Shah further said, “I also want to request him to take the opinion of Islamic scholars on the issue of Abhaya Mudra in Islam. He should take the opinion of SGPC on the Abhaya Mudra of Guru Nanak Sahib. He has no right to talk about Abhaya Mudra. He has terrorized the entire country during the Emergency. Lakhs of people were put in jail. If there was ever ideological terror, it was your Emergency.
