Hon’ble Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Invites Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for Upcoming National Games
New Delhi: In a significant step towards promoting sports and fostering development, Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, met with the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, in New Delhi to invite him to the upcoming National Games. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss corporate social responsibility (CSR) sponsorships, particularly for ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) and IOC (Indian Oil Corporation), under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, for the upcoming games.
During the interaction, Chief Minister Dhami emphasized the importance of these national sports events in providing young athletes with a platform to showcase their talents while promoting sports culture across the country. He invited the Hon’ble Minister to attend the games, which are expected to gather national attention and further elevate India’s sports legacy.
Additionally, Chief Minister Dhami made a request for CSR support for the National Games, specifically focusing on areas like health and education within the state. These sectors are vital for the overall development of Uttarakhand and aligning corporate efforts with state initiatives can make a significant impact, said Dhami. He appealed to the Hon’ble Minister to consider facilitating CSR sponsorship from ONGC and IOC, in line with their commitment to corporate social responsibility.
In response, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured the Chief Minister of every possible assistance and expressed his support for the upcoming National Games. He acknowledged the importance of CSR initiatives in the fields of health and education, particularly in Uttarakhand, and assured that he would explore ways to support the state’s efforts in these crucial areas.
