New Delhi: Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia have joined the Congress party today (September 6) ahead of the Haryana assembly elections. Before joining the party, both of them reached the house of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. It was described as a courtesy visit. Party general secretary KC Venugopal was also present at Kharge’s residence.

After joining the party, Vinesh said that “this is a proud moment for them. She said that she will support the players and will not hold back in raising their voice. On joining the Congress, Vinesh Phogat said that thanks to the entire countrymen for the support. I will try to live up to the expectations. I am starting a new innings. We stand with every woman who considers herself helpless and powerless.” Vinesh said that “I thank the Congress, they say that only in bad times do you know who is your own. God gave me an opportunity to serve the people of the country. I hope no one else has to face what I faced, today they will get courage.” Vinesh Phogat further said, “BJP’s IT cell said that I don’t want to play Nationals, I played Nationals. They said that I don’t want to play trials, I also played trials. They said that we don’t want to go to Olympics, I went there too. I worked hard, but God had something else in mind.” She said, “Whatever happened in Olympics, how it happened.. I will talk in detail. Our fight is not over.”

At the same time, Bajrang Punia also thanked everyone. He said that when atrocities were committed against daughters at Jantar Mantar, only BJP stood with that atrocity, while all other parties were in support of wrestlers. We are paying for the voice raised by the daughter of the country. As much as we have worked hard in wrestling, we will work as hard on the ground. We will always stand with Congress in the fight of struggle, Punia further told that the day Vinesh lost, the IT cell was celebrating.

According to sources, Bajrang Punia will be given a suitable position in the Congress organization in addition to being the star campaigner of Congress. Sources said that only Vinesh Phogat will contest the elections. Bajrang Punia will not contest the elections. It is not clear yet from where Vinesh will contest the elections.
