Akali Dal candidate’s wife campaigned in societies
Zirakpur. Babita Sharma, wife of Shiromani Akali Dal candidate NK Sharma from Patiala Lok Sabha constituency, has said that the Aam Aadmi Party, which claims to be women friendly, has not given ticket to even a single woman in this election.
Babita Sharma was campaigning in support of her husband in the residential societies of Dhakauli. During this campaign she met with many women’s organizations in societies. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party, which talks about women empowerment, has earlier misled lakhs of women of Punjab in the name of giving them a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000.
The women who filled the form have been waiting for the monthly allowance for two and a half years. Babita Sharma said that in this election all the political parties have fielded women but Aam Aadmi Party has not fielded even a single woman in the election contest. The wife of the Akali Dal candidate said that only Punjab’s regional party Akali Dal can protect the interests of women. On this occasion, many women’s organizations announced their support to the Akali Dal candidate.
