Dehradun, 20 Jan 2024: 5115 mini Anganwadi centers of Uttarakhand will be upgraded. Its approval has been received from the Central Government. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya said, that after the upgradation of these centers, 100 percent of mini Anganwadi centers in the state will be upgraded. With this, more than five thousand women will get employment as assistants.
Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister said a proposal for the upgradation of Mini Anganwadi Centers was sent by the State Government to the Central Government in the year 2023. Its approval has been received in the new year. Which is a big gift from the Central Government for our Anganwadi sisters in the state.
The minister said, that upgrading these mini-centers will empower the Anganwadi sisters. The government is continuously working to strengthen the Anganwadi sisters. Earlier, the honorarium of Anganwadi centers was increased by the government. There are 20067 Anganwadi centers and more than 35 thousand Anganwadi workers and assistants in the state.
Along with the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, the amount of awards given to them has already been increased. Which was increased from Rs 21 thousand to Rs 51 thousand. – Rekha Arya, Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Development
