The UT administration on Tuesday announced several major reliefs, including limiting the weekend lockdown to Sunday, after the number of corona cases in Chandigarh decreased. Restaurants, bars, gyms, spas, museums, libraries and malls will open from Wednesday after the approval of Chandigarh Administration. Night curfew will also be in place from 10 pm to 5 am daily. The administration has also opened Sukhna Lake for the people, however no boating will be allowed . The administrator also ensure that the visitors at lake follow the protocols of covid strictly . At the same time, shopkeepers have been allowed to open the shop till 6 pm , Restaurants and bars closed for several weeks have been allowed to open with 50 percent capacity. Weekend lockdown has also now been limited to Sunday only. There will be no restrictions on Saturday. However, on Sunday people will have to stay indoors and the ban on going out will continue and on Sunday only the essential shops will be allowed to be open , the movement of vehicles will be restricted .
The daily night curfew has also been relaxed. It will now be from 10 pm to 5 am. Earlier this night curfew was in force from 6 pm to 5 am. Malls which were closed for the past several weeks have also been allowed to open. All these orders will come into effect from Wednesday. However , the eating outlets inside the malls must ensure that there is no crowding with in the shops and open areas . At the entrance of the mall should be arranged necessary screening of visitors to check temperature etc , And to properly sanitize them . And also check all visitors are vaccinated .
However, cinema halls, rock gardens and theaters will remain closed for now. Only 30 guests will be allowed in the wedding ceremony and the covid restrictions also strictly followed .
