Dismissed Complaint and Mamata Banerjee misled voters said Election Commission

The Election Commission has hurled back to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s allegations of outsiders being present at a polling station in Nandigram. The Election Commission rejected their claims of interferences and said that their complaint was rigidly incorrect. They also denoted that action can be taken against her under the provisions of Model Code of Conduct and Public Representation Act. Mamta had filed a complaint on April 1 regarding malpractices are taking place at the polling station number 7 in a school in Nandigram.
The Commission responded in six pages on April 4. They rejected Mamta’s allegations and said that in CCTV footage only BJP, TMC, CPI and independents’ agents were present inside the polling booth during the voting. Further the Commission added that the paramilitary personnel on duty neither went inside the polling station nor prevented anyone from voting.
