In Punjab, both AAP’s MPs and MLAs have joined BJP, Big blow to AAP

Punjab, 27 March 2024: The trend of leaders switching sides continues before the Lok Sabha elections. On Tuesday, while a Congress MP joined the BJP, an Aam Aadmi Party MP and an MLA together gave a double blow to the Aam Aadmi Party. Aam Aadmi Party’s Jalandhar MP Sushil Kumar Rinku and party MLA from Jalandhar East Sheetal Angural have joined the BJP. Let us tell you that AAP had also announced to give ticket to its MP Sushil Kumar Rinku from Jalandhar, despite this he has joined the BJP.

After joining BJP, Sushil Kumar Rinku has said a big thing, he said, “It is true that the promises I made to the people of Jalandhar were not fulfilled because my party (AAP) did not support me. I am impressed by the working style of PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah… and the Union.” Sushil Kumar Rinku further said, “I have taken this decision for the development of Jalandhar. We will take Jalandhar forward. We will bring all the projects of the Central Government to Jalandhar.”

Let us tell you that in Punjab, both Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are contesting elections separately and AAP MP Sushil Kumar Rinku has also been in Congress earlier and he won the assembly elections from Jalandhar West seat in 2017 and in the by-election held on Jalandhar seat in 2023, AAP made him a candidate from Jalandhar and he has been an MP from this seat for the last one year.

Let us tell you that there are 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab where AAP and Congress have decided to contest separately. Aam Aadmi Party has so far announced the names of candidates on eight seats, which also includes the name of Sushil Kumar Rinku, who left AAP and joined BJP.
