Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Sunday strongly condemned the killing of four farmers protesting at Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. These farmers were killed when a car in the convoy of a Union minister’s son ran over the peacefully protesting farmers. On the other hand, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi expressed grief for the deceased farmers. The Deputy Chief Minister said that he has sent a team of senior officers to Lakhimpur Kheri to collect proper information related to the matter and assure all cooperation to the victims. He alleged that the farmers were staging a roadside dharna and showing black flags to the Union minister’s convoy. It was just a symbolic protest but a car in the convoy of the minister’s son ran over the protesters. Due to this, four farmers died on the spot.
