Ruckus in Bengal: firing in East Midnapore, two security personnel injured, BJP workers accused of entering booths

Voting is going on for 30 seats in five districts under the first phase of the West Bengal assembly elections. Reports of violent clashes have started coming in just two hours after the start of voting. Firing took place at a polling station in East Midnapore, in which two security personnel were injured.There was firing in Satsatmal of Bhagwanpur assembly constituency in East Midnapore before voting began on Saturday morning, in which two security personnel were injured. BJP district president Anoop Chakraborty alleged that people associated with TMC are trying to intimidate people in Argola Panchayat area.At the same time, Soumendu Adhikari, the brother of Suvendu Adhikari, who joined BJP before the assembly elections, alleged that EVMs are being malfunctioned in many places. While voters at booth number 149 are being prevented from voting. Soumendu Adhikari said that we approached the Election Commission that there should be free and fair voting. He said that polling in other places is going on peacefully.BJP candidate from West Midnapore, Samit Das has alleged that TMC people are trying to spread unrest at some places in rural areas. TMC activists tried to impress voters by entering booths 266 and 267 from 7 to 8. TMC is threatening people.
