New Delhi, 28 April 2024: The voting for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections has finished. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has traveled to Davanagere, Karnataka, to campaign. He spoke in front of a huge public gathering. During this time, PM Modi repeatedly criticized the opposition and the Congress. He stated during an electoral meeting on Sunday that anyone who declined the invitation to the Prana Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya would be rejected by the public in the current Lok Sabha elections. He was plainly referring to the Congress party’s decision not to attend the event.

PM Modi stated that the decision to build the Ram temple should have been made on the very next day after the country achieved freedom. Targeting the Congress on this subject, he claimed that “the same forces” tried until the last moment to prevent the Ram temple from being built, even knocking on the court’s door on the final day. The Prime Minister said at a public assembly in this taluka headquarters town of Uttara Kannada district, “Congress and its courtiers have tried for 70 years that Ram temple should not be built.” He claimed that the Ram Mandir trustees ignored all obstacles erected by the Congress and its allies, went to their houses, and invited them to attend the Prana Pratishtha event, demonstrating their kindness.

PM Modi stated, “They [the Congress leaders] declined the invitation to the Ram Mandir event. The country will reject those who ignore the invitation to the Ram Mandir.” He stated that previously, whenever they lost, they would set a cap on the electronic voting machine. They used to scream the name of EVM all day and night when elections came around, but the Supreme Court hit them so hard the day before yesterday that they don’t know what to say to soothe their party workers. The entire Congress is currently crafting a statement in case it loses the elections.
