Haridwar, 07 April 2024: This time Somvati Amavasya is on 8th April. Due to this, on weekends, crowds from many states of the country gathered in the religious city of Haridwar from Saturday itself. At the same time, today on Sunday also the crowd increased further since morning.
From Brahma Kund of Harki Paidi to various ghats of Ganga, a huge crowd took a dip of faith. At the same time, due to the arrival of large number of tourists, there has been a huge pressure of vehicles here. There is a jam situation on the highway since morning.
Ashram and Dharamshala are completely packed. Regarding Somvati Amavasya, however, the district administration has prepared a complete plan to celebrate Somvati Amavasya by dividing it into 29 zones and 39 sectors.

Not only this, separate arrangements have been made for vehicles coming from Najibabad and for vehicles coming from Punjab and Haryana. Also, separate arrangements have been made for vehicles coming from Sidewalk area.
Auto Vikram and e-rickshaws will be diverted if the pressure of vehicles increases. But right now the situation remains the same. The crowd on Sunday gave full indication as to what would be the situation here on the day of Somvati Amavasya.
