Foundation day of Kainchi Dham on 15th June, lakhs of devotees expected to reach

Nainital: The 60th foundation day of Kainchi Dham will be celebrated on 15th June. This time a large number of devotees are expected to arrive. Earlier, apart from the local devotees, only a few devotees from outside used to come here.

There was a time when on the foundation day of Kainchi Dham, i.e. 15th June, the people of Kainchi and its surrounding areas used to go to the Dham and wait for the offerings of Malpua, but in the last two and a half decades, this establishment ceremony of Kainchi Dham has taken such a widespread form that even the country No, devotees from foreign countries also started arriving here. Girish Tiwari, associated with the temple committee, said that this time two to two and a half lakh devotees are expected to arrive on June 15. Preparations are being made by the temple committee for the fair.

Earlier, the influence of Kainchi Fair was in Bhawali, Bhimtal, Bhumiyadhar, Nainital, Gethia, Shyamkhet and to some extent in Haldwani also. Apart from the local devotees, only a few devotees from outside used to come here. Gradually the size of this fair started increasing and the number of devotees coming here also started increasing. In the last years, the number of devotees coming to Kainchi Dham has reached lakhs. If we talk about the last 6 to 7 years, 75,000 to 1 lakh devotees used to come here, but in the last two-three years this number has increased to more than 2 lakh. It is expected that this time around 2.5 lakh devotees will reach here.

One reason for the increase in the number of devotees here has been the arrival of many big celebrities here. When Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs started mentioning this place after their Kainchi Dham visits, the Dham started gaining fame all over the world. When all the Indian stars including Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, Chunky Pandey and many others reached here, its fame started increasing further. Therefore, the form of this fair has completely changed in the last two and a half decades.

85-year-old Ghanshyam Singh Bisht, a District Panchayat member from Kainchi area, says that with time there has been a big change in the nature of the fair. Earlier we used to go on foot in groups but now that is not the case. 78 year old Champa Tiwari tells that Maharaj had once said that in future there will be huge crowd in Kainchi. He told that Maharaj had stayed in his house in the year 1962. The devotees coming here on the foundation day of Kainchi Dham were first given Tika, Hanuman ji’s favorite red colored adornment. At that time, the number of devotees used to be limited here, but now due to the large number of devotees arriving here, it is not possible to do so.
