In the long years of Indian history , for the first time 7 Indian boxers have won gold medals at the Youth World Boxing Championship held in Poland. Earlier, India has won 5 gold at Youth World Championship(2017) in Guwahati . Indian boxers have now made history by winning 11 medals out of which 7 are gold along with 1 silver and 3 bronze medals .
Eight boxers reached the finals. Which included 7 women and a boxer boxer. All the seven women boxers have managed to win gold.
Earlier in 2018, India won 10 medals in the World Championship held in Hungary which was also appreciated and congratulated by the Union Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju .
