208 families were badly affected in the disaster that occurred in Almora district in the years 2010, 2012, 2013. In these disaster incidents, these families lost their ancestral houses and cultivable land was also completely destroyed. Some took shelter in other houses of Khatra Bhamp village, while many are still forced to live in dilapidated houses due to the disaster. Every year during the monsoon period, the worries of these families affected by disasters increase. These families spend sleepless nights worrying about when disaster will rain from the sky.

After the disaster, the government machinery conducted a geological survey of these vulnerable villages and experts advised the families living in these villages to be immediately displaced, but even after more than a decade, the affected families could not be displaced. Is. In this regard, District Magistrate Vineet Tomar said that proposals for displacement of disaster affected people have been sent to the government. Further action is possible only after receiving instructions from the government.

Bhainsiyachhana, Ranikhet and Lamgada are most affected.
In the disaster incidents that have occurred so far in Almora district, people of Bhainsiyachhana, Ranikhet and Lamgada development blocks have been most affected. Even in Salt and Chaukhutia development blocks, the danger from the disaster period is not less.
