Haldwani, 20 Dec 2023: Newly married woman swallowed poisonous substance under suspicious circumstances. She was brought to Sushila Tiwari Hospital where doctors declared her dead. The post-mortem of the deceased was conducted in the presence of the magistrate.
According to the police, Aashika alias Bhuri (17), wife of Manoj Pal, resident of Bhairav Nagla, lived on rent in Nursing Bari Pilikothi Road Mukhani with her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law. Her husband drives an auto. Father-in-law works as a sharecropper in the fields. Manoj Pal told that he drops school children to school every morning.
Since Sunday was a holiday, he slept till one o’clock. At two o’clock he took his bike to Echo Town for some work. At around 4.30 he got a call from home that Bhuri had swallowed poisonous substance. On reaching home, the family members and he gave Bhuri a drink of soap water. When her condition worsened, she was brought to Sushila Tiwari Hospital at around 6 o’clock. Here the doctors declared him dead. The post-mortem took place on Monday in the presence of the magistrate.
On the other hand, Bhuri’s uncle and mother also reached Haldwani from Badaun. Family members told that it has been six months since Bhuri got married. She did not accuse anyone. On the other hand, the police has handed over the body to the relatives after post-mortem.
The matter of two Aadhar cards came to the fore, doubt in age
The family members gave an Aadhar card during the magistrate’s investigation. In which the date of death was written as January 1, 2007. When Tehsildar Sachin Kumar said that the girl was a minor, the family members told that they had another Aadhaar card. In that Bhuri’s age is more than 18 years. When asked for her Aadhaar, he started saying that it was at home. Tehsildar Sachin Kumar said that Aadhaar has been sought from the relatives of the deceased. He told that the date of birth was wrongly recorded in the old Aadhar card.
