A tiger assault kills a girl, and the villagers parade the body outside

Nainital, 21 Dec 2023: Nikita Sharma, who was cutting grass in the field at 5 pm on Tuesday evening in Tada Tanda of Alchauna Gram Panchayat of Bhimtal block, was attacked and killed by a tiger. The girl’s body was recovered two kilometers away. There is an atmosphere of panic among the villagers after the death of the girl.

Let us tell you that even before this the tiger had killed two women. Tanda resident Anandmani Bhatt told that on Tuesday evening at 5 pm, Nikita Sharma (18), daughter of Vipin Chandra Sharma, was cutting grass in the field. He told that suddenly the tiger in ambush attacked Nikita and took her towards the forest. After the family members raised an alarm, the tiger left the dead body and ran away towards the forest.

After the death of the girl, there was anger among the villagers and family members against the forest department and the district administration. On Wednesday morning, the angry villagers took the dead body of the girl to Khutani intersection, seven kilometers away. The villagers raised slogans of ‘Murdabad, Murdabad’ against the forest department along with the dead body of the girl. The villagers are not ready to accept even after the persuasion of MLA Ram Singh Kaida. Police officers are trying to convince the villagers but the villagers are not ready to listen. Seeing the fierce opposition of the villagers, the Conservator and DFO of the Forest Department did not even come forward to the villagers.

The villagers alleged that even after calling the Nainital DM after the incident, the phone was not picked up. The villagers are protesting against the forest department and administration in Khutani with the dead body of the girl. For the first time, such protest from villagers has been seen in Bhimtal assembly constituency.
