Ramnagar: The Maldhan police conducted a major operation against illegal liquor and arrested a liquor smuggler from Uttar Pradesh who was operating illegal distilleries in the Maldhan area. A total of 400 liters of illegal liquor were seized at the scene, and thousands of liters of ‘lahan’ (the raw material used to make illicit liquor) were destroyed.
According to reports, as part of an ongoing campaign against illegal liquor, the Maldhan police station team apprehended one Gurpyaar Singh, son of Jogendra Singh, a resident of Kua Kheda village, Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh. He was found operating two illegal liquor distilleries near Tumdiya Dam in the Maldhan area. The police seized 400 liters of raw illegal liquor stored in five rubber tubes, along with various distillation equipment.
Additionally, the police confiscated four iron drums, four aluminum pipes, four rubber pipes, four clay pots, and six plastic containers. Approximately 6900 liters of lahan, ready for distillation into illicit liquor, was also destroyed.
A case under Section 60(2) of the Excise Act has been registered against the arrested smuggler at the Kotwali police station. The police team involved in the operation included SI Dharmendra Kumar (Maldhan Chowki In-charge), SI Sunil Dhanik (Chowki In-charge), SI Rajveer Negi (Garjia Chowki In-charge), Kunwar Pal Singh, Govind Singh, Vineet Chauhan, Rashid, Dinesh Kumar, and others.
