This time a record has been made for getting a green card in the Chardham Yatra. The Transport Department has so far issued more than 28 thousand green cards. This includes 17 thousand vehicles of Uttarakhand and more than 10 thousand green cards of other states.
The Transport Department is running the process of making green card online. Bus, Mini Bus, Taxi, Maxi owner apply online. Accordingly, fitness and other checks of the vehicle are done in the concerned transport office. A green card is then issued, which is valid for the entire travel period. This time, a huge fight is being seen regarding the Green Card from the very beginning.
In about one and a half months, the Transport Department has issued 28,132 green cards. These include 17,224 green cards for vehicles from Uttarakhand and 10,908 green cards for vehicles from other states. Last year, 25 thousand green cards were made during the entire Yatra period.
This time the figure may touch 35 thousand. On the other hand, commercial vehicles engaged in travel have to provide all the documents like fitness, tax deposited in the state, permit, pollution etc. to the transport department. On this basis the green card is issued.
