Tempo traveler carrying 26 passengers falls in Alaknanda, 13 dead, 13 injured

Rudraprayag: A tempo traveler plunged into Alaknanda near Rudraprayag district. There are said to be 26 passengers in the vehicle. 13 passengers died in the accident. While 13 are injured.

A major accident took place in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand on Saturday morning. The tempo traveler traveling from Delhi to Noida fell into the Alaknanda river. 13 people have died in this accident. While 13 are injured. Six seriously injured were airlifted by five helicopters to Rishikesh AIIMS, where one of the injured died. While seven are admitted in the hospital.

The vehicle had left from Delhi Noida at night with 26 passengers. According to the information, a tempo traveler broke the parapet and fell into the Alaknanda river near Raitoli on Badrinath Highway, five kilometers ahead of Rudraprayag city. The reason behind the accident is said to be the driver dozing off.

On information, police administration, District Disaster Management, DDRF and other teams reached the spot for rescue. When the vehicle fell into the river, three people working on the railway line here also jumped to save the passengers, one of whom died.

CM Dhami expressed grief over the accident: Expressing grief over the news of the accident, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the very painful news of the accident of tempo traveler was received. Local administration and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. The injured have been sent to the nearest medical center for treatment. The District Magistrate has been ordered to investigate the incident.

It is a prayer to God to grant peace to the souls of the departed and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this immense suffering. I pray to Baba Kedar for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Former CM Harish Rawat expressed condolences: On the Rudraprayag incident, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Congress leader Harish Rawat said that I pray to God for the peace of the dead and pray for the health of those who are injured. I request the state government to provide them with the best medical facilities. At present, accidents have increased in hilly areas. There is need to worry about this.
