A female elephant has died after being hit by a train near the cremation ground ahead of Subhash Nagar medicine form in Lalkuan. While his child was found injured and lying in the field next to the railway line. After receiving the information, Forest Department officials reached the spot.
Gola Range Ranger Chandan Singh Adhikari said that the accident took place on the border of Gola and Tanda ranges near the crematorium under Lalkuan police station area. The dead body of the female elephant was found in Tanda range while her baby was found in critical condition in Golaganj border. A team of veterinarians was called on the spot and the baby elephant was rescued and taken for treatment.
