Uttarakhand’s people celebrated winning the T20 world cup

Echo of fireworks and slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai on tongues

Dehradun: As soon as India won the T20 World Cup, the sight of Ghantaghar in the capital Dehradun, Jhanda Chowk in Kotdwar, Roorkee, Haridwar and Kumaon was worth seeing on Saturday night. As soon as India won the World Cup, the sky lit up with colorful fireworks.

The Indian team filled the countrymen with joy and pride and people celebrated vigorously. The sound of firecrackers was being heard all around and a crowd of youth gathered in the clock tower. Everyone’s face was glowing and happy.

There was a huge crowd in all the major areas in Uttarakhand from mountains to plains at 11.30 pm on Saturday night. Some were busy with their mobile phones, while others were watching TV in shops.

As soon as Surya Kumar Yadav took the catch in the last over of the final match of the T-20 World Cup, people shouted. People said- Surya has caught the World Cup slipping from his hands.

After this, after the fifth ball of the last over, victory celebrations started everywhere. There were fireworks in the sky and slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram were raised.

Within no time there was a festive atmosphere all around. People came out on the streets, horns of vehicles started blowing everywhere and people started waving tricolor flags on vehicles.

There was only one thing on everyone’s lips – Jai Ho. And why not be so happy, after 17 years the Indian team has won the T-20 World Cup. On the other hand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has congratulated on India’s victory.
