Zero Zone in Rishikesh for Dussehra

Zero zone will be there from Ghat Chowk to Triveni Ghat, decision taken keeping in mind the festive season

Rishikesh: The route plan during the Dussehra festival on 12 October was also discussed in the meeting. SP Rural Lokjit Singh said that all police personnel should make every possible effort to ensure that traffic and peace remain in order during the festive season.

SP Rural has issued guidelines to the police personnel to maintain the traffic and peace of the city during the festive season. The police has also prepared a plan for traffic route and parking etc. during Dussehra etc. During Dussehra festival, there will be a zero zone from Ghat Chowk to Triveni Ghat.

During a meeting held in the Kotwali premises on Thursday, SP Rural Lokjit Singh discussed the arrangements during the festive season with the Kotwali and various police posts. During this, members of the effigy burning organizing committees were also present. The route plan during the Dussehra festival on October 12 was also discussed in the meeting. SP Rural Lokjit Singh said that all police personnel should make every possible effort to ensure that traffic and peace remain in order during the festive season.

This will be the route plan…

1. There will be a complete zero zone from Ghat Chowk to Triveni Ghat. Traders’ vehicles will be parked in Bada Bazar parking.
2. Four-wheelers coming to Dussehra fair Triveni Ghat from Chandrabhaga will be parked under the Chandrabhaga bridge.
3. Two-wheelers coming to Dussehra fair Triveni Ghat from Chandrabhaga will be parked in Punjab Sindh area Dharamshala and Kalikamali Dharamshala near Nirmal Ashram.
4. All small and big vehicles coming to Dussehra fair Triveni Ghat from Shyampur will be parked in front of Jairam and Municipal Corporation.
5. All big and cargo vehicles coming from Nepali Farm will be diverted via Shyampur bypass Manshadevi gate to Nataraj Chowki.
6. In case of heavy traffic pressure, vehicles will be diverted from Purana Bus Adda Tiraha Rishikesh towards Natraj
7. In case of heavy traffic pressure, the traffic coming from Muni ki Reti will be diverted from Doon Tiraha towards Natraj Chowk.
8. Parking arrangement for all vehicles participating in Dussehra Fair IDPL will be at Hockey Ground IDPL.
