Sector-17 police will present the gang who stole bags at different places including Sector-17 bus stand in Chandigarh before the duty magistrate in the court today and will seek remand of both. According to the police, the accused have repeatedly committed theft incidents at many places in the city, so they are yet to be interrogated in more cases.
The accused were identified as Ishan Mohammad (29), a resident of Sector-56, and Sonu (28), a resident of Bathinda district of Punjab. Police recovered 10 mobile phones on the spot of both the accused. Then both were produced by the police in the district court, from where they were sent on police remand, the period of which is expiring on Sunday.
Let us inform that the team of Super Vision of Sector-17 police station in-charge Ram Ratna Sharma arrested the accused on the basis of secret information. The gang was exposed during the investigation on the complaint of Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Mahendragarh district of Haryana. In his complaint to the police, Sandeep had told that he had come to Chandigarh on July 19 for his personal work.
After the work was over, he came to Sector-17 bus stand to go back. Was waiting for the bus, thought I should take some rest. Meanwhile, my eyes fell and I kept my bag under my head. Suddenly I woke up at around 3:30 in the morning and saw that the bag was missing from under the head. When he could not find it after searching, he gave a complaint to the police.
