On Friday, the 8th day of the Commonwealth Games, the wrestlers of Haryana played a role. While Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik won the gold medal, Anshu Malik brought laurels to the country by winning the silver medal.Bajrang Punia defeated Canada K.L. in the men’s freestyle 65 kg weight category. He captured the gold by defeating McLean 9-2. Wrestler Poonia defeated England’s George Ram 10-0 in the semi-final match to reach the final.On the other hand, Chhori Sakshi Malik of Haryana defeated Ana Godinez Gonzalez of Canada in the final of the women’s 62 kg weight category by pin fall and put another gold medal in the country’s bag.
Anshu won silver medal in front of Nigerian wrestler
Anshu Malik missed out on gold in the women’s 57kg finals. Anshu was up against Nigeria’s Odunayo Folasade, but Anshu could not perform at her best and lost 3-7. But Anshu proved by getting the country a silver medal that even daughters are no less than anyone.
