Dehradun, 22 Jan 2024: Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat observed a fast of silence in protest against unannounced power cuts and charging of arbitrary rates in rural areas of Haridwar district. He said, my fast of silence is for those victims who are victims of the negligence of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited.
On Friday, Harish Rawat observed a fast of silence at his residence. Said, UPCL is harassing poor families in rural areas of Haridwar in the name of electricity theft. Also, arbitrary rates of electricity are being collected. In rural areas, power cuts are being cut for several hours every day, due to which people are troubled.
