Uttarakhand, 18 March 2024: There is currently a tussle going on in Congress regarding candidates for Haridwar and Nainital seats. Candidates can be announced today.
Congress can announce candidates for Haridwar and Nainital Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand today. There is a tussle going on regarding the candidates on both the seats. Rahul Gandhi is returning to Delhi on Monday after the conclusion of Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra. Only after this the name of the candidate can be announced.
Former CM Harish Rawat is seeking ticket for his son Virendra Rawat from Haridwar seat. Whereas State President Karan Mahara is also willing to contest elections from here. However, there is talk that an independent MLA from Haridwar is in line for the ticket.
For this, we have also met top leaders. Whereas there are many contenders from Nainital seat. Among these, the names of Yashpal Arya, Bhuvan Kapri, Mahendra Pal, Ranjit Rawat, Prakash Joshi are discussed. Congress State President Karan Mahara says that soon the party will declare candidates on both the seats.
