Uttarkashi, 07 April 2024: The doors of Maa Annapurna temple located in Dodital will be opened with rituals for 6 months on 27th April in the presence of the deities of Kelshu area. Dodital is situated at an altitude of 11,998 feet above sea level. A meeting of the Dodital Maa Annapurna Temple Committee was held under the chairmanship of Chairman Baldev Singh Rana in Agoda village of Kelshu Valley, where the villagers first took the permission of the Devdoli of Nagadevata to open the doors of Maa Annapurna. After that the temple committee fixed the date for opening the doors.

Shastri Radheshyam Khanduri, the chief priest of Annapurna temple, said that on the afternoon of April 26, the villagers will leave for Dodital along with the deities of eight villages of Kelshu valley. After that, on 27th April, on Ganesh Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Baisakh month, the doors of Maa Annapurna temple will be opened for the devotees as per the rituals for 6 months.

Dodital is also considered to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. Along with religious viewpoint, Dodital is also a favorite place for mountaineers for mountaineering. This place can be reached from the district headquarters by taxi and jeep through a distance of 20 km by road till Agoda and then by trekking a distance of 15 km from Agoda to Dodital amidst natural beauty.
