Cyclothon by Environment Society of India

Chandigarh, India. As we know that climate is changing drastically and it is making a steady impact across the globe. Natural Conservation and the use of these resources in an organized manner is a need of the hour. So a cyclothon was jointly organized by The Environment Society of India and St. Anne’s Convent School on 21st May at 6:30 am from St. Anne’s Convent School. Mission LiFE aims to place individual behaviors at the forefront of global climate action and encourages us all to make conscious choices that positively impact our environment.

More than a hundred students of St. Anne’s Convent School and members of the Environment Society cycled around the local cycle paths, displaying colorful posters and shouting the slogans of an eco-friendly lifestyle. The cycle rally was flagged off by the School Principal Sister Jessy Augustin and Councillor Mrs. Mohinder Kaur from the school gates. The rally motivated the residents of Chandigarh towards cycling and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Many parents joined in during the rally, turning the event into a mass movement.

Later in the morning, saplings of flowering plants were planted on the school campus by the School Manager Rev. Father Ambrose, Sister Jessy Augustin, and Sister Siji. Mr. N K Jhigan and Mr. Rohan Singh, Mr. Ravinder Nath, Mr.Vijay Pal Goel, Mr.Rakesh Sharma, Mrs.Chandni Sharma, and Mr.Bhuvan graced the occasion. – Says Rohan Singh Member Of The Environment Society Of India.
