Governor Gurmeet Singh reached Kedarnath today on a one-day visit. He offered prayers and prayed for the welfare of the world.
Dehradun: Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Senior) reached Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham today. First he visited Baba Kedar and offered prayers and then performed Rudrabhishek and prayed for the welfare of the world and people. During this, he also reviewed the ongoing reconstruction and development works in Kedarnath. The Governor appealed to everyone to make collective efforts to make the Dham plastic free.
On reaching Dham, District Magistrate Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar and Superintendent of Police Dr. Vishakha welcomed him. After this the Governor met the Tirtha Purohit Samaj and the Chief Priest. After the puja, he greeted the devotees standing in the temple courtyard and also got them cheering for Baba Kedar. While meeting the devotees, he also took information about their journey and arrangements.After this he reached Badrinath. Here he was welcomed by the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee. He saw and worshiped Lord Badri Vishal.
Pilgrims’ enthusiasm at peak
The enthusiasm of the devotees is at its peak during the journey to Kedarnath. On the second day on Saturday, 22,599 devotees had attained virtue by having darshan of Baba Kedar in the Dham. At the same time, along with those traveling by horse-mule and Dandi-Kandi on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath foot route, the pedestrians kept climbing the Dham throughout the day. At the same time, even on Sunday, a crowd of devotees has gathered in the Dham since morning.
