Diesel tanker driver died in a road accident in Banihal. After completing the legal formalities, the police handed over the body to the family for last rites.
Tragic accident at Banihal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway claimed one life. Late on Tuesday night, a vehicle carrying diesel towards Srinagar got out of control and fell into the Satanic drain. Due to which the driver died. There was an outcry in the family as soon as the news of the death was received. Harnam Singh, in-charge of the police post in Jawahar Tunnel, said that the driver has been identified as Ishwar Das of Kathua district. His body was pulled out of the ditch.
On the other hand, a driver was injured in a head-on collision between two heavy load carrier trucks at T-Chowk on the outskirts of Banihal in the night itself. According to the information, a truck coming from opposite direction in order to overtake an apple laden truck (JK03H-9255) going from Srinagar to Jammu at T-Chowk Banihal.
