Roorkee: Rape victim sitting waiting for hearing consumed poison in the court premises, had come with a request for abortion

The girl was living in a room on rent in Bhagwanpur police station area. In the same year, the girl met Rolahedi, a resident of Tayyab. It is alleged that Tayyab raped her on the pretext of marriage. Later refused to marry. Panchayat was also held between both the parties regarding this and the matter reached the police station.
Pregnant rape victim swallowed pesticide in Roorkee court premises on Tuesday morning. Due to this his condition worsened. The girl was brought to the Trauma Center of Civil Hospital for treatment. Seeing that his condition was not improving, he was referred to AIIMS Rishikesh.

On the instructions of the SSP, the police had registered a rape case against Tayyab at Bhagwanpur police station on 21 September 2023. The police had arrested the accused on November 9 and sent him to jail. The police also filed a charge sheet in the court against the accused in this case on November 18. The victim is currently four months pregnant. Some time ago, she had given an application in the court of First Additional Civil Judge Junior Division located at Ramnagar, Roorkee for abortion.

The victim had come to the court on Tuesday regarding this matter. The victim, who was sitting waiting for the hearing, suddenly swallowed pesticide. Due to this his condition worsened, which created a stir there. Doctors treated him for about one and a half hours in the trauma center of Civil Hospital. When the condition did not improve much, the victim was referred to AIIMS Rishikesh.

SP Dehat Swapan Kishore Singh said that the accused of rape is in jail. Nothing can be said yet as to why the victim consumed pesticide. It is being told that the victim is extremely mentally disturbed. The owner of the house where she lives has also asked her to vacate the room. It has also come to light that the accused party is pressurizing them to withdraw the case.
