On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh achieved a big target of testing five crore samples for Covid-19. In a release, the state government said that Uttar Pradesh is the first state to complete this target.
They said that around 3 lakh samples are collected for Covid-19 testing daily across the state.
The state government said that 3,31,511 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which nearly 1,500 tested positive. The share of RT-PCR test – considered the gold standard – in the testing is 1.5 lakh every day, the UP government said.
The state credited its aggressive ‘Test, Trace and Treat’ strategy for achieving the target. “A broadly conveyed and proficient testing technique in Uttar Pradesh has helped in restricting the spread of new cases as it essentially decreased the opportunity of people with undetected infection openness from meandering unreservedly among unexposed people,” the government said in the release.
