Atishi said that she is on fast because there is a shortage of water in Delhi. She alleged that Delhi does not have its own water, all the water here comes from neighboring states, but for the last 3 weeks Haryana has reduced sending water to Delhi. She claimed that 100 MGD water means 46 crore liters of water. This is useful for 28 lakh people in a day. She said that due to lack of adequate water, 28 lakh people are craving for every drop of water. She said that doctors had examined her on Sunday. Doctors told that her blood pressure is decreasing, sugar level is also decreasing along with weight. Ketone levels have also increased significantly. Doctors have advised that such an increase in ketone levels is dangerous and can have long-term adverse effects on the body.

Letter written to PM Modi
Cabinet ministers of Delhi government wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday regarding the demand for water. Also appealed to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to jointly visit Wazirabad Barrage. Earlier, the ministers held a meeting at the indefinite hunger strike site of Water Minister Atishi in Bhogal. In this, they decided to write a letter to the Prime Minister and jointly visit Wazirabad with the Lieutenant Governor. It was written in the letter to the Prime Minister that due to severe heat this year, there has been a water crisis in Delhi. Due to this, Delhiites are craving for every drop. The need for water of Delhiites has also increased in the scorching heat. Delhi needs additional water. Delhi is completely dependent on Haryana and Uttar Pradesh for water. It is said in it that unfortunately, let alone getting more water, Delhiites are not even getting the allocated water from Haryana.

It was written in the letter that the total water supply in Delhi is 1005 MGD. A large part of this, 613 MGD water comes from Haryana. For many days, Delhi is getting 100 MGD less water. Due to this, 28 lakh people are not getting water. Delhi government has made every possible effort to overcome the water shortage. Himachal is ready to give additional water to Delhi, which will come from Haryana to Delhi in Yamuna, but Haryana is refusing to give even that water.
