Central Cabinet Approves Women’s Reservation Bill, BJP Leaders Welcome the Move

New Delhi: The Central Cabinet’s recent approval of the Women’s Reservation Bill and its subsequent presentation in the Lok Sabha has garnered praise from key Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Chandigarh. Pradesh Mahamantri (State President) Ramveer Bhatti and Pradesh Pravakta (State Spokesperson) and Women’s Wing Incharge Kailash Chand Jain expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this historic initiative.

In a statement released today, Ramveer Bhatti commended the government’s actions, highlighting that for many years, discussions around women’s reservation had remained largely rhetorical, with various parties periodically making statements on the issue. However, concrete steps were never taken until now. He emphasized that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who took the pioneering step of putting this reservation into practice. Bhatti expressed hope that once the bill is passed in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, women’s reservation would become a reality across the nation.The bill proposes the reservation of 33 percent of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and all state legislative assemblies. This move is seen as a significant stride toward women’s empowerment, as it ensures their participation in governance at both the central and state levels. It is not only a key element of the BJP’s manifesto but also a commitment they have upheld throughout their history.
