The mortal remains of the brave soldiers of Uttarakhand who were martyred in the terrorist attack in Bafliaz area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir will reach their homes today. The entire family is shocked by the news of the sacrifice of the soldiers.
On Thursday, two heroes of Garhwal division were martyred in the terrorist attack in Bafliaz area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Among these, Rifleman Gautam Kumar (29), resident of Kotdwar in Pauri district and Virendra Singh of Bamiala village in Chamoli district have been martyred.
Army officials informed the family about the sacrifice of both of them late on Thursday night. The mortal remains of both the martyrs will reach their homes today, where they will be cremated with full state honours. Gautam was posted in 89 Armed Corps, while Virendra was posted in 15th Garhwal Rifles. Virendra’s family lives in Roorkee, but his last rites will be performed in his native village Bamiala.
It is being told that Gautam had joined duty only last Saturday after 15 days leave. He was going to get married on March 11 and his family members were busy preparing for it, but meanwhile the whole family is shocked by the news of his sacrifice.
Let us inform that on Thursday, terrorists had ambushed and attacked a military vehicle at Bafliaz Police Station Mandi Road in Surankot tehsil of Poonch district. In which five army soldiers were sacrificed.
