Uttrakhand: Information has been issued to release water from Srinagar Dam. Along with this, instructions have been given to the officials in Devprayag, Rishikesh and Haridwar to be vigilant.
Even today, the process of rain continues in Uttarakhand from the mountains to the plains. Due to which the rivers are also in spate. Shahid Sheikh, Senior Manager, Srinagar Garhwal, said that due to the increase in the water level of the Alaknanda river due to heavy rains, there is a possibility of additional water of about 3,000 cusecs in the Srinagar Dam. Due to which information was issued by the Disaster Management Department to release water from Srinagar Dam. After this, water has been released from the dam at 9.30 am. This water will reach Devprayag at 10:30, Rishikesh at 12:30 and Haridwar at around 1:30. Due to which instructions have been given to the officials in Devprayag, Rishikesh and Haridwar to be alert.
Rivers flowing at danger mark
Due to incessant rains in the hilly areas, the water level of Ganga has increased in Devprayag, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Ganga is currently flowing at the danger mark.(HB)
