Passengers travel through aerobridge for the first time, now they will not have to face trouble in sun and rain

Dehradun: Now after the launch of Aerobridge, air passengers will not have to travel by bus or on foot to travel from the terminal to the plane. This will provide a lot of relief to the passengers in sun and rain.

Two aerobridges have been started at Dehradun Airport from Thursday. After which, for the first time, air passengers from Ahmedabad moved through the aerobridge at the airport. Two aerobridges at the airport have received approval from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). After which air passengers have started getting this facility from today. With this, passengers will now move between the terminal and the aircraft through the aerobridge.

The work of constructing four aerobridges inside the Dehradun Airport Terminal was almost completed. Two of these aerobridges have been approved by DGCA. After which the airport administration has started these two aerobridges for air passengers. A new terminal building has been constructed at the airport at a cost of approximately Rs 460 crore. Its Phase-2 was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on 14 February this year.

Along with Phase-2 welding, the work of building four aerobridges was also started. Now after the launch of the aerobridge, air passengers will not have to travel by bus or on foot to travel from the terminal to the plane. This will provide a lot of relief to the passengers in sun and rain. DGM Nitin Kadian said that two more aerobridges will also be started soon after the approval of DGCA.

Aerobridge facility will be available only for big aircraft. However, most of the passengers travel from Doon Airport by big aircraft only. To reach some small or ATR aircraft, one will have to travel on foot or by bus. Because the aerobridge cannot be attached to chartered or small ATR aircraft.

After the approval of DGCA, Aerobridge has been started at Dehradun Airport from today. The remaining two will also be started soon after approval. -Prabhakar Mishra Airport Director.
