DM Mayur Dixit arrived to take stock of the Arakot Bangan area, the frontier of Uttarkashi.
District Magistrate Mayur Dixit inspected the border area of Arakot area and took stock of the damage done in the disaster two years ago. He assured early reconstruction, the government would give land on lease to those who were landless in the disaster.
The DM, who reached Arakot area on Saturday, took stock of the situation on Arakot Chiwan Motor Road. The DM also inspected the damaged walkways, broken motor bridges and suspension bridges. The DM also inspected the buildings of GIC Tikochi and Allopathic Hospital Tikochi, which were destroyed in the disaster. Rajendra Nautiyal, president of Arakot Bangan Sangharsh Samiti, said that even after two years of the disaster, the condition of the Arakot-Tikochi-Chiwan-Monda-Balavat motorway has not improved.
While crores of rupees have been spent. Rural Manmohan Chauhan, Upendra Chauhan, Jagdish Rana and Jitendra Singh expressed their anger over getting compensation of two to three thousand for hundreds of hectares of agricultural and horticultural land destroyed by the disaster. During this, Deputy Collector of Purola Sohan Singh Saini, CHO Dr. Rajneesh Singh, Executive Engineer of LND Purola Dhirendra Kumar, District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal, ACMO Dr. RC Arya, SO Mori Deendayal Singh,Former village head Harendra Singh, Rajendra Nautiyal, Shoorveer Singh, village head Kirauli Chaman Singh, Sadar Rana, Mohan Lal etc. were present.
Arakot region is the border area of the district. It is about 200 km away from the district headquarter. DM Mayur Dixit is the second DM to reach here. Earlier Ashish Chauhan had come here. Who had stayed here for about a month during the disaster.
