Haldwani, 17 Dec 2023: A case of rape of a minor of a protection home has come to light in Haldwani. On Friday night, a case has been registered under serious sections including POCSO against two female employees of the institute and others in Haldwani Kotwali.

On Friday night, a case has been registered under serious sections including POCSO against two female employees of the institute and others in Haldwani Kotwali.
Recently, the matter came to light when the minor narrated his ordeal to a judicial officer who had come to inspect the protection home. According to the complaint given by District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) member Ravindra Rautela, two female employees of the protection home used to take the 15-year-old minor to a house outside the center, where she was raped. When he protested, he was threatened and even beaten.
SI Ankur Singh, posted on night duty, said that in Haldwani Kotwali, a case has been registered against accused employees Deepa and Ganga and other unknown people under Sections 323, 328 and 376 apart from POCSO Act 3/4 and 16/17. He told that the medical examination of the minor is being conducted. The investigation has been handed over to SI Jyoti Koranga.
