A shocking incident has occurred in Kollam, Kerala, during the NEET examination. In the name of strictness, the girls’ undergarments were allegedly removed at the Marthoma Institute of Information Technology examination center. In this regard, the family members of the girl students have registered a case with the police. However, the Marthoma Institute of Information Technology has denied the incident. At present the police is investigating the matter.

After filing the complaint, the girl’s father said, ‘My daughter was told that the hook of the undergarments has been detected in the metal detector, so she has to take it off. Undergarments of about 90 percent of the girl students were taken off and kept in the store room. Because of this, these girl students were very mentally disturbed during the examination.

Another student’s father said, ‘My daughter was told that you have not followed the dress code in the exam and will have to remove the undergarments. If you do not do this then you will not be able to appear in the exam. Many more students were asked to do the same. Some of them started crying. Let us inform that the NEET exam was conducted at Marthoma Institute of Information Technology and this incident is being told on July 17.

As per the reports, few student activists initiated intense protests as a result five women were arrested in Kerala on July 20, 2022 for allegedly forcing girl students, who appeared for medical entrance exam NEET, to remove their urdergarments during frisking. While three of the arrested women worked for an agency hired by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the other two worked for the private educational institution at Ayur in Kollam where the incident happened.
