The Punjab-Haryana High Court has reserved the decision on Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s future as well as the demand for change of CBI judge in the murder of former Dera Sacha Sauda manager Ranjit Singh. The High Court will issue an order on this demand next week and till then the stay on the final order by the CBI court in the matter will continue.

Petitioner Jagsir Singh, while filing a petition in the High Court, had stated that he was eight years old when his father Ranjit Singh was murdered in 2002. The accused in this case is Ram Rahim, due to which the case went on for a long time. The petitioner said that since the new CBI judges have come in this case, the hearing is being postponed continuously.

Sometimes the public prosecutors also demand to postpone the hearing. The petitioner said that he feels that a unilateral decision can be given in this matter. It was also informed that in another case against the CBI judge also, a complaint about being in touch with the accused was sent to the Chief Justice which is presently under consideration. In such a situation, this case should be sent from the CBI court in Panchkula to any other CBI court in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

On this demand and allegations, the CBI judge has submitted his affidavit in the High Court. All the parties have placed their arguments before the High Court. The CBI court was to give the final verdict in this case, which was stayed by the High Court pending the petition. Now in such a situation, the future of Ram Rahim will depend on the order of the High Court in this matter next week. CBI has also filed its reply in this case saying that if the High Court wants to change the court, the decision of the High Court will be accepted by them.
