Chandigarh, October 1, 2023 – In a significant gesture promoting harmony and forgiveness, Lovely Professional University announced the annual observance of Forgiveness Day during an event held at the Digambar Jain Temple in Sector 27, Chandigarh. The occasion, graced by Jain Muni Acharya Shri Subal Sagar Ji Maharaj, witnessed the presence of eminent personalities, including Ashok Mittal, Chancellor of Lovely Professional University and Member of Parliament, Advocate Ajay Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Mohali Shrimati Ashika Jain, and Joint Commissioner of Income Tax Ankur Jain Aliya, alongside Assistant Professor Dr. Arihant Jain from PGAI.During the event, Kailash Chand Jain, Coordinator of the Jain Federation, emphasized the significance of forgiveness. He urged Lovely Professional University to initiate the practice of Forgiveness Day celebrations, a tradition that will begin this week and continue annually. Advocate Ajay Jain, speaking on behalf of Ashok Mittal, announced that Lovely Professional University, with its 35,000 students and a global presence in 150 countries, would actively participate in Forgiveness Day festivities.

This initiative aims to foster a spirit of understanding and compassion among students, promoting forgiveness as a key value. The university plans to involve students, faculty, and staff in activities emphasizing the importance of forgiving others and seeking forgiveness. Moreover, Advocate Ajay Jain expressed the university’s intention to collaborate with the Punjab government to extend this initiative across the entire state.
