Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal was born on 16 August 1968 in Siwani, Haryana. His father Govind Ram Kejriwal was an engineer and Arvind Kejriwal’s mother’s name is Geeta Devi. Kejriwal’s father worked as an electrical engineer in Ram Jindal STRIPS. Govind the head of an ordinary family, has three sons and daughters.

Arvind Kejriwal’s NGO, ‘Parivartan’
Arvind Kejriwal had waged a big war against corruption while holding the post of Joint Commissioner and due to this he established an NGO named ‘Parivartan’ in the year 2000. Along with this, Kejriwal made his mark as a social and RTI activist. Kejriwal had an important contribution in implementing the Right to Information.

Kejriwal was honored with the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2006 for the RTI Act. After this he left the job and came in contact with social worker Anna Hazare. After this he started the fight for the Lokpal Bill. Started political party in 2012 and formed Aam Aadmi Party.

Kejriwal’s journey to become Chief Minister
He contested the elections in 2013 against Sheila Dikshit and defeated her by 25864 votes. He became the Chief Minister, but resigned from the post after 49 days. In 2015, Kejriwal contested the elections again and became the Chief Minister of Delhi for the second time on 14 February 2015.

In the Delhi liquor scam, Rouse Avenue Court had sent him to ED custody till March 28. Even after his arrest, Arvind Kejriwal has not resigned from the post of Chief Minister. Aam Aadmi Party leaders say that he will remain the Chief Minister of Delhi and will run the government from jail if necessary.
Arvind Kejriwal’s party Aam Aadmi Party won 62 out of 70 seats in Delhi for the third time in the year 2020. On 16 February 2020, Arvind Kejriwal took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi for the third time.

After all, what was the liquor policy in which Kejriwal was arrested?
1.- On March 22, 2021, Manish Sisodia had announced the new liquor policy. On 17 November 2021, the new liquor policy i.e. Excise Policy 2021-22 was implemented.
2.- After the new liquor policy was introduced, the government came out of the liquor business. And entire liquor shops went into private hands.
