New Delhi – Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the money laundering case related to the excise policy, is completing his 6-day remand today. The central agency will present Kejriwal in the Rouse Avenue Court at 2 pm. According to sources, after the ED remand ends, the CBI may seek Kejriwal’s custody today. It is worth noting that Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal had claimed in a video message on Wednesday that her husband would make a ‘big disclosure’ regarding the liquor scam case in the court on Thursday. It is worth noting that the Enforcement Directorate has expanded the scope of its investigation in the alleged liquor scam case in Delhi. On Wednesday, the ED had summoned four people, including Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa unit chief Amit Palekar, for questioning. Today, a hearing is also to be held in the Delhi High Court, in which it has been said that since Arvind Kejriwal is in ED custody, he cannot run the government, so the court should order his resignation. It is worth noting that in this case, AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 and a court sent him to the agency’s custody till March 28.
‘No money found in ED raids’
Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal had claimed on Wednesday that not a single penny was found in the several raids conducted by the ED and her husband will make a ‘big disclosure’ in the court on Thursday in the liquor policy scam case. During a digital press conference, Sunita Kejriwal said that when she met her husband, who was detained by the ED, he told her that in the last two years, the central agency has conducted more than 250 raids in the ‘so-called liquor scam’, but ‘not a single penny’ has been found in these raids.
‘Money laundering case linked to CM’s residence’
Sunita Kejriwal claimed that the ED raided the premises of ‘AAP’ leaders Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Satyendra Singh, but no money was found. She said that the ED raided the Chief Minister’s residence, but only Rs 73,000 was found. She questioned, ‘Where is the money of the so-called liquor scam?’ It is worth noting that former Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia and AAP Rajya Sabha member Singh were arrested in the excise case last year. Former minister Satyendra Jain was arrested in a money laundering case related to a case. Sunita Kejriwal said that Arvind Kejriwal is a brave, patriotic and true person and his determination is strong even after suffering from diabetes. She said, ‘My husband gave instructions to Water Minister Atishi while in custody. The Center had a problem with this. Do they want to ruin Delhi?’ She said that her husband is very upset with this issue. Sunita Kejriwal appealed to the people to pray for the health and success of the Chief Minister of Delhi.
