Terrorist attack on military vehicle in the hilly area of Kathua, two soldiers injured

Jammu-Kashmir: The army has been attacked once again in Jammu and Kashmir. On Monday (08 July) terrorists opened fire on an army vehicle in the Dharnota area of Billawar in Kathua, Jammu, in which at least two soldiers were injured. The terrorists had brought grenades and threw them with the intention of blowing up the army vehicle and then started firing.

Terrorists attacked an army vehicle near Loi Marad village. In response, the Indian Army surrounded the area and started a search operation in search of terrorists. This attack took place in Dharnota village of Machedi area of Kathua district when the army personnel were on their routine patrol. At the same time, security forces are continuing the search operation in the area.

Defence officials said that the Indian Army convoy was attacked in the area under the 9th Corps of the Indian Army. After the firing by the terrorists, the soldiers also retaliated. Along with this, additional security forces have also been sent. At the same time, sources said that there is presence of 2 to 3 terrorists, who allegedly attacked the army vehicle with a grenade.

Earlier, the army had killed six terrorists in two separate encounters in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir just 24 hours ago. Two soldiers, including a para-trooper, were also martyred in the encounters that started on Saturday, while another soldier was injured. The first encounter took place in Modergam village when security forces of CRPF, Army and local police launched a search operation based on intelligence about the presence of terrorists. A para-trooper was seriously injured in the initial firing.
At the same time, another fierce encounter took place in the Frisal area of Kulgam. Drone footage showed the bodies of four terrorists after a long encounter. One soldier was martyred and another was injured in this encounter.
