It has started getting cold in Jammu and Kashmir. Night temperature in most of the districts of Kashmir is running below zero.
Despite clear weather in Jammu and Kashmir, the minimum night temperature in most of the districts of Kashmir is running below zero. However, the day’s mercury is two to five degrees above normal. It is freezing cold in Leh and Kargil. The cold has increased in Jammu also at night. According to the Meteorological Center Srinagar, the weather will be clear in the coming days, but there will not be much relief from the winter.
Last night’s minimum temperature in Gulmarg, a world famous tourist destination, fell from normal to minus 6.0 degrees Celsius. The night temperature was minus 0.4 in Srinagar, minus 3.4 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam. It is freezing cold in Leh, with the last minimum temperature recorded at minus 7.9 and maximum at 2.3 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Kargil was minus 6.8 and the day temperature was 4.9 degrees Celsius. The weather remained clear throughout the day in Jammu with the day temperature recorded at 24.2 and last night’s minimum temperature at 8.7 degree Celsius. Last night’s temperature was recorded at 2.6 degree Celsius in Banihal, 3.9 in Batote, 8.7 in Katra and 2.5 degree Celsius in Bhaderwah.
